Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including angels, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then settled his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect learning which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
